Install on Chromebook

Step-by-step: for company-managed Chromebooks and for your own.

Installing on a Mac

  1. Open the downloaded .dmg and drag Veritenza to Applications, then eject the disk image.
  2. Open Veritenza from Applications. If macOS says it cannot verify the app, click Done, open System Settings › Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway.
  3. Sign in with Google, then follow the window to allow Accessibility. When it says You're all set, close it.

Updating from labs1, the app's earlier name? Quit it from its menu-bar icon first, and after installing Veritenza move the old labs1 app from Applications to the Bin. You stay signed in.

Installing on a Chromebook

  1. On a company-managed Chromebook it may already be installed: look for the Veritenza icon by the address bar.
  2. Otherwise follow the Chromebook guide: your Google administrator adds it for everyone, or you add it yourself on your own Chromebook.
  3. A Veritenza tab opens. Sign in with Google; when it says You're all set, close the tab.

Installing on Windows

  1. Run the downloaded installer. If Windows SmartScreen warns about it, click More info, then Run anyway.
  2. Veritenza opens by itself. Sign in with Google.
  3. When it says You're all set, close the window. Veritenza keeps running in the taskbar's notification area.

Veritenza records which applications and windows you use. Anything more, such as window text, typed text or screenshots, only if your company switches it on; the app lists what is on. What exactly is recorded.
